Worst conditions experienced Sikakap Island, the southernmost island in the Mentawai group of Islands. Sub Regional Disaster Management Agency of South Pagai, Mentawai Islands District, reported the death toll from the tsunami that occurred last night about 21 people were killed and 240 others were missing. Chairman BPBD South Pagai, Joskamatir, states, personnel still perform the search.

According to Jos, when contacted Tuesday, October 26, 2010, the worst conditions experienced Belerakso Hamlet, Village Malakopak, South Pagai. In the village, the death toll has reached 16 people. Hamlet is located at the southern cluster of the Mentawai Islands, so the closest to the epicenter of the quake 7.2 on the Richter scale which occurred at 21:42 last night. From the Capital of the Mentawai Islands, Tuapejat, it took 11 hours by motor boat to achieve it.
